Dear Mr. Carson,
On Monday, Feb. 20, the nation celebrated President's Day, remembering the legacy of two of our greatest Presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. We hope that President Obama will be remembered as a President who stood up for the working man and woman when it counted. One thing the President can do in this respect is direct the Office of Management and Budget to move on the silica standard it has been "reviewing" for more than a year now.
Thousands of American workers have the potential to be exposed to this deadly dust on the job, and the OMB has had more than enough time to study the matter. The fact is, silica kills. Please let President Obama know that we need him to do the right thing and tell the OMB to move a silica standard now.
