Dear Administrator Jackson,
Thank you for taking the first step to restore and clarify Clean Water Act protections by proposing for public comment "Waters of the United States" guidance. I support the proposed guidance and also urge you to take additional steps to restore protections for prairie potholes and other geographically isolated waters through final agency guidance and rulemaking.
Two Supreme Court decisions and subsequent agency guidance have put at risk of pollution and destruction:
* over 20 million acres of wetlands;
* almost 60% of continental U.S. stream miles; and
* drinking water supplies for more than 117 million Americans.
Thank you again for taking this important first step to protect the waters that power our lives and the American economy.
