Dear Winnebago County Board Member:
As a Next Rockford member, I am writing in support of the proposed expansion of the Winnebago Landfill.
The landfill has a proven track record of professionally managing the proper disposal of waste in the region. The use fees generated by the landfill have been critical to re-investing in Winnebago County to create a regional hub for cultural, recreational, educational and commercial opportunities.
The expansion will retain an important, existing business and grow new business opportunities in the county. The project will provide hundreds of primary, secondary, and tertiary jobs with good paying wages as well as nearly $2 billion dollars of regional economic impact. The EcoPark will be a leading edge green technology operation which will attract and grow businesses along the I-39 corridor.
I am hoping I can count on your support of the Winnebago Landfill expansion at the July 12th board meeting.
