A series of full public hearings, located around the state where citizens do not have to travel long distances, should be scheduled before any further action is taken on the proposed changes to the Wyoming Food Rule.
Changes to the Wyoming Food Rule that deeply impact the rights of Wyoming citizen's should not be allowed without ample input from all affected citizens.
As written, the proposed changes, if implemented, would result in the regulatory taking of private property that should never be considered without full debate, the vote of duly elected officials, and the assurance of the judiciary that the proposals are both constitutional and necessary.
The right of Wyoming families to choose the food they eat, where they purchase that food, and how it is produced should never be threatened with egregious and unnecessary intervention by unelected government bureaucrats.
Therefore, it is imperative that these proposed changes be removed from consideration.
