Dear Mr. Achorn:

The Letter to the Editor section of The Providence Journal is an important feature of civic journalism. Unfortunately, it appears too often liberal and progressive letter writers have their letters trimmed, tucked, and skewed when they are edited by your newspaper.

The latest example is a letter that appeared on July 26th. As I read at the link below, the letter was heavily, and unfairly, edited:

Please allow progressives and liberals to have their fair say on the pages of The Providence Journal. If The Journal is going to maintain its place as the local paper of record it needs to apply a more balanced standard to the Letter to the Editor page.
