Subject: Why did you vote to protect ACORN?

Senators Durbin and Burris:

I am extremely disappointed that you voted to oppose the Johanns Amendment #2355 to H.R. 3288. As you know, this measure would block the Housing and Urban Development Department from giving grants to ACORN.

Why do you support using taxpayer funds to support this troubled organization?

Just last week, 11 ACORN officials in Florida suspected of voter registration fraud were arrested.

And over the past week, we have seen ACORN officials in numerous cities caught on videotape giving advice on how to skirt federal housing, tax and sex trafficking laws.

Why are you fighting to fund this organization, which is obviously so rife with corruption?

ACORN has received $53 million in taxpayer funds since 1994 -- I look forward to hearing your response on why you are choosing to protect taxpayer funding for this corrupt enterprise.
