Speaker Madigan:
I am writing to urge you to stop the unfair redistricting proposal that is ending in the House.
Putting the politicians in charge of drawing legislative districts is certainly not a fair solution.
I ask that you consider the proposal that would put a bipartisan commission in charge of drawing the districts. This would ensure accountability and fairness.
Illinois citizens have had enough of blatant power grabs by their politicians.
Corruption, mismanagement, fraud and high taxes have destroyed the faith of the Illinois voters in government.
Abandoning the power grab pending in the House in favor of a truly fair redistricting solution would go a long way toward restoring this faith.
It's also the right thing to do.
