Dear Mr. Davis,
I am requesting that you please resign from the Board of Regents.
It is not appropriate to pay $10,000 to help the Education Commissioner write a speech and then pressure her to keep an under-performing charter school open.
It is also odd to see you speaking at events headed by the Rhode Island Statewide Coalition (RISC), a far-right anti-immigrant group that is opposed to the Dream Act. The Dream Act would open up opportunities to immigrant children who want to go to college and also provide them with a path to citizenship. How can you be a featured speaker at a RISC event while claiming that "[t]he public education system is absolutely screwing low-income kids of color"?
Finally, since you were an underachieving and mischievous student and didn't even attend college, it does not seem that you are qualified to be a Regent.
