Dear Mayor Matthews,
Thank you for your continued attention on getting the city to take more comprehensive action on climate change. If everyone plays their part we can reduce our dangerous dependence on foreign oil and avoid the worst effects of climate change.
There are several steps the city can take:
1) Ensure that the city moves forward with a citizen's Green Ribbon Taskforce to assist the city with forming a comprehensive plan.
2) Do a *comprehensive* CO2 emissions inventory for the city, not just on city operations
3) Adopt strong sustainability guidelines for new development, including using Build It Green’s rating system
Every person and organization, including the city, has a role to play to avoid the worst effects from climate change. And all of us stand to benefit from the improvements we can make.
